We're looking for a highly motivated experienced *Legal Counsel *to join our team in Latam. You will collaborate with business owners throughout Telesign and will be a key contributor to TeleSign's success. You will need to be a self-starter and will proactively assess and advise on legal risks and opportunities. This role reports to Telesign's Chief Legal Officer.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts and other legal documentation with customers, suppliers etc.
- Provide time-sensitive support on an array of legal inquiries in connection with all aspects of the business.
- Provide legal and strategic business advice to ensure agreements are consistent with applicable laws and internal corporate policies and processes.
- Transaction support for other departments as required.
- Trusted advisor and business partner across the company by providing counsel and guidance for accomplishing Telesign's overall business objectives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years combined experience in law firm and/or in-house legal department; experience within a fast-paced technology company is advantageous.
- D. and good standing to practice law in Colombia.
- Specialization in Commercial Law preferred but not required.
- Experience advising on privacy and data protection matters a plus.
- Fluent in English required. Fluent in Portuguese or other language a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex negotiations, keeping all tasks organized and stakeholders clearly informed of deliverables and timelines.
- Ability to understand business objectives and think creatively and outside-the-box to find resolutions to achieve requirements of all parties.

- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow-through on numerous projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Self-starter and able to work well independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
