Data Scientist - Manchester - Hybrid - Up To £45,000 per annum
DataBuzz are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious organisation who is looking for Data Scientist.
As a Data Scientist, you will be expected to collaborate with the wider team to solve any issues.
As a Data Scientist, you will be expected to propose solutions and strategies to business challenges with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
As a Data Scientist, you will be expected to have problem-solving aptitude with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
As a Data Scientist, you will be expected to have analytical mind and business acumen with strong math skills (e.g., statistics, algebra).
As a Data Scientist, Responsibilities include
- Ensure data integrity and quality
- Enhance the scalability and performance of existing database architecture
- Develop database structures and features according to organisational needs.
- Protect data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls.
- Document processes and comply with best practices in database management.
- Keep up to date with developments and trends in database management.
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data (including text extraction)
- Lead on architecture and experimentation in building predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modelling
- Present information using data visualization techniques
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst or ML Engineer
- Experience in data mining, information retrieval and text classification
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
- Knowledge of R, SQL and Python
- Knowledge/experience of open-source libraries which can be used for text classification
- Experience working with different data sources (traditional media, social media, webpages, reports)
- Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop)
- At least 2 years of experience in database management
As a Data Scientist, you will earn a salary up to £45,000 per annum with excellent benefits.
