Description
Our client is an international chemical manufacturer. They are actively looking for an Accountant to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out daily accounting activities and transaction across wide range of finance sub functions including Accounts Payables, Account Receivables, credit, inventory, fixed asset
- and cash management as well as supporting the monthly, half-year and year-end reporting processes within the finance team.
Responsibilities
- Processing of journal entries in SAP
- Preparation of bank account reconciliations
- Supporting the inventory management
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Preparation of cash flow forecasts incl. payment handling and queries to local bank
- Supporting the Finance Manager in month-end, half-year and year-end closing activities including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, etc
- Assisting with the annual external audit, tax returns and statistical reports
- Providing ad-hoc management reporting as directed by the Finance Manager in support of other business units or functions
- Supporting the Finance Manager on projects
- Active communication and seeking for interaction with counterparts and business partners
- Acting as back-up for other Finance team members
Requirements:
- Diploma in Accountancy or degree level or equivalent
- Min 5 years of experience in similar role, primarily AR focused
- Excellent knowledge of financial accounting and reporting practices and standards (IFRS)
- Understanding of tax requirements as well as internal controls
- Excellent SAP and Microsoft Office knowledge
- Sound business acumen and understanding of the underlying reporting aspects
- Good problem solving and analytical skills, sense of urgency and pro-activeness with attention to detail
