Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016 to formalize their commitment to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health care experience through a strong, coordinated system of care. Each hospital remains a separate corporation with its own Board of Directors and Foundation. An integrated Senior Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH. Over 600 caring staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute and long-term care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.
The MDRD Department has an immediate opening for a Part-time MDRD TECHNICIAN. Reporting to the Manager of MDRD, the incumbent is responsible for stocking all patient care areas, maintaining supplies and equipment, and assisting in the preparation of OR instruments and bundles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician certificate from an accredited college, the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Group, Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Ontario (MDRAO), or equivalent - in good standing (re-certification every 5 years)
- Two years’ recent experience in a Medical Device Reprocessing Department
- Sound knowledge of the principles of decontamination, reprocessing, sterilization and sterile storage and distribution
- One year experience in Stores
- Knowledge of medical and surgical instruments and products
- Physical ability commensurate with the requirements of the position: i.e. ability to lift, push / pull carts, stoop; repetitive bending and use of hands and wrists; and stand for long periods at one time.
- Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, and facilitation skills
- Proven ability to independently assess, prioritize and adjust activities in response to workload demands
- Experience with cart exchange systems
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
