POSITION PURPOSE

This position is integral to providing our guests with the highest level of service by working within the framework of our service standards. This job entails greeting guests, taking their food & beverage orders, providing efficient customer service, going above and beyond the customer's needs to give them an experience to remember. Servers should tailor their style to meet the needs of their guests. Servers are responsible for accurately taking the customers' orders, ensuring their food and drinks are adequately rung in and brought out in a timely matter, keeping their section tidy and presentable, and ensuring the guests have a positive experience. During any downtime, a server is expected to be a team player and help their coworkers out when needed, keep the pub clean and tidy, and stock the servers' stations to prepare for busier hours. Penny Farthing is looking for an experienced server with at least 3 years of experience working in a high volume establishment.

Qualification Requirements and Job Function:

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high volume restaurant with daily sales in excess of $1000/shift
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Serving sections of more than 10 tables
  • Strong working knowledge of POS systems including Focus in general as well as cash out procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of wine, beer and spirits
  • Ability to effectively communicate daily food and drink features leading to higher average sales
  • Valid Serving it Right certificate (or provincial equivalent)
  • Following health and safety guidelines as directed by the Managers
  • Firm understanding of the restaurant, pub, and hospitality industry
  • A good working knowledge of current applicable health and liquor laws
  • Punctual, reliable and professional
  • Encourage and uphold a safe work environment while adhering to company policy around bullying and harassment
