Front-end Developer Intern
[What the role is]
Are you passionate about web development and want to work on a project that benefits library patrons? If yes, then we want you! Our library is looking for an intern front-end developer with web development experience to build a year-in-review feature for our patrons. As an intern, you'll also have the opportunity to get exposure to other innovative projects within the library.
[What you will be working on]
- Collaborate with our team to develop a year-in-review feature for library patrons that displays usage statistics, reading history, and other library-related data in an interactive and visually appealing way.
- Use popular front-end visualisation frameworks such as Highcharts, D3.js, Chart.js, Plotly.js or Google Charts to build responsive and dynamic user interfaces.
- Ensure the feature is accessible and meets web standards such as WCAG 2.1.
- Test and debug the feature to ensure it works seamlessly across different browsers and devices.
[What we are looking for]
- Student from Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Systems or equivalent will be preferred
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git
- Aptitude for visualising data
- Experience with front-end visualisation frameworks such as Highcharts, D3.js, Chart.js, Plotly.js or Google Charts will be a bonus
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 will be a bonus
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest web development trends.
Expected Duration: 16 Weeks (flexible)
