Description
Working under the general direction of the Principal Investigator and as part of the Clinical Research Team, the Clinical Research Assistant supports the Clinical Trials Coordinators in implementing study procedures for assigned research projects.
The studies are in the area of Dermatology and include industry-sponsored clinical trials (Phase II-IV) with a variety of innovative drugs. The primary role of the assistant is to help with data entry and collecting and processing biospecimens.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Excellent time management and ability to work independently are key qualities. Computer literacy is a must, including the ability to use MS Excel and EMR records to schedule and manage patient data. Accuro experience is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science minimum with a strong academic record (B+ or higher over all years)
- Preference is given to Humber CRC and Seneca CRC Program Graduates with some experiental industry experience
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong work ethic
- Medical history and concomitant medication history collection by patient interview
- Adverse events collection and recording
- Vital signs measurements (blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate and temperature)
- Phlebotomy (blood draw) and laboratory sample processing
- Electrocardiogram (ECG) collection
- Administration of Tuberculosis skin test
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently
- Excellent self-initiative and problem-solving abilities are a must
- Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
