Job Title:RADIO OP

Job Rotation:60/30 on-off duty

Location:Rig Site

Immediate Supervisor:Rig Manager

Reviewing Supervisor:Tool pusher

Job Summary:Responsible for communicating with the receiving operators so as to get information or instructions on the transmissions which need to be forwarded. Control attendance and coordination with trainer

Responsibilities:
1． Receive and transmit messages between rig and other teams and other stations by radio & telephone

2． Operate all communication equipment in the radio room and ensure they are well maintained and operational

3． Maintain a radio watch on emergency frequencies

4． Maintain records/logs of all important radio communications to and from the rig

5． Ensure the maintenance of all electronic aids where applicable

  1. Have the knowledge of drilling progress, familiar with the meaning of drilling parameters, know the conception of cementing, logging, running casing, completion, etc. Assist DS to fill the daily report and other work.

  2. Register the visitors and arrange accommodation for them if needed. Check their certificates. Remind HSE to do safety induction for visitors.


8.Head count while drill，figure out the missing one.

  1. Coordinate food and drinks for crew member including drilling and rig move.

  2. Coordinate with service company as requirement of RM.


11.Establish and maintain radio contact with company office to and from the rig

12.Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations

13.Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situation to the supervisors

14.Attend weekly safety meetings

Job Specifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer and equipment skills to perform communication, submittal and data maintenance duties as required.
  • 1 years Radio op experience with oil & Gas Company.
  • Relevant Certification.
  • Complete all Company required training as per the Training Matrix.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • High school degree or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Experience as Radio op on similar rigs.
  • Bachelor degree above.

Salary: AED3,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
