Cost Control Engineer
Parsons is looking for a talented *Cost Control Engineer *to join our Qatar PC team in the Main Office.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Sets up baseline budget (resource/revenue/cost) with appropriate WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) interfacing with various disciplines and in coordination with Project Managers.
- Establish resource/revenue/cost projections for the entire project duration on monthly/yearly intervals in coordination with Project Managers.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts current status against an established baseline budget.
- Monitor and track project progress and perform variance analysis for resource/revenue/cost against the approved projections and initiate/recommend corrective actions.
- Assesses the budget impact(s) of design or construction changes.
- Monitor and track project progress and perform Earned Value Analysis.
- Utilize historical data and trends for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future forecasting.
- Provides input to senior staff regarding staffing requirements & prepare presentations for senior management for project reviews.
- Ensure Contingency and uncertainty is properly assessed within budgets; monitor contingency drawdown.
- Manage migration of data into cost systems.
- Assist in the ongoing cost reporting service and variance analysis (monthly movements, budget versus forecast, design and compile reports, calculate Estimate At Complete / Forecast and monitor movements, integrate all types of cost data and reporting and provide data for Finance systems).
- Assist in the configuration and implementation of cost systems. Facilitate the development of user requirements. Understand the likely requirements for data integration.
- Manage the interface of cost data within input, processing, and output / reporting systems.
- Prepare/update various weekly and monthly tracking reports.
- May interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and provide statistical reports.
- Prepare Presentations for senior management for Project Reviews.
- Provides specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult cost control problems.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (Finance degree can be considered)
- Minimum 5+ years of internal cost control experience on engineering infrastructure projects within multinational engineering consultancy firms in the Middle East.
- Requires basic understanding of design and construction supervision of infrastructure development projects.
- Understands and applies engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
- Proficient PC skills including proficiency in various Project Controls software (primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to fluently communicate in English.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
