The Wastewater Treatment Engineer will oversee the review of the selected DBO contractors design for the process engineering methods pertinent to process design and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities of Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP).

Requirements:

  • 12+ Years of relevant experience post-graduation.
  • Holds a minimum of bachelor’s degree in either of Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental and Wastewater Treatment Engineering.
  • 17+ Years of relevant experience in case of B-Tech and/or Diploma of Associate Engineer in either of Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental and Wastewater Treatment Engineering Technology.
  • Background in multidisciplinary facility design reviews with demonstrable O&M and Engineering Project Management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required to foster client relationships and managing project teams.
  • Demonstrate outstanding oral and written communication skills, aimed both at technical and administrative teams.
  • Must be able to work in varying shifts
  • Fluent in English language
  • Competent user of basic computer software e.g., Microsoft Office Suite etc.

  • Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices pertinent to various aspects of design, installations and commissioning and plant operations and maintenance.
  • Capable of carrying out root cause analysis RCA and subsequent supervision of systems troubleshooting
  • Supervises the work of engineers, technicians and operators on the project(s) including providing technical guidance and reviewing daily works and subsequent results.
  • Provide major contribution to fostering client relationships.
  • Evaluate plant operations: assures proper adjustment of plant processes; coordinates sampling operations to assure proper balance of treatment steps and meeting effluent requirements; ensures the proper conduct of laboratory tests performed by operation staff.
  • Proven competency in the identification and managing/supervising miscellaneous plant maintenance activities e.g. Preventative and Corrective maintenance, Debottlenecking, and startups for both Scheduled and Unscheduled occurrences.
  • Supervises plant maintenance activities: to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of equipment and specialist tools and vehicles.
  • Verifies proper implementation of plant preventive maintenance plans as well as the work order issuance for any corrective maintenance whenever required.
  • Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities. Recommend improvements and modifications whenever required.
  • Understanding of plant O&M KPI’s, Operations and Maintenance procedures and subsequent reviews and approvals
  • Understanding of Wastewater treatment plant O&M specific tools and software is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of miscellaneous Environmental compliance regulations is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of project program and deadlines is essential.
  • Ensure Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policy is adequately implemented.
  • Capable of identifying and delivering local Staff trainings and appraisals.
  • Assist the client in all Process Engineering Matters related to WWTP design and O&M aspects in general.
