Job Purpose:
▪ To form strategy, create, implement and maintain an efficient corrosion control program f or Complete Company complex so that all Plant & machinery and Structures are pro -actively protected against Corrosion f rom all reasons which include Corrosion f rom process and outside environment. Conduct root cause analyses to identify failures due to corrosion, risk assessment of identified defects, corrosion studies, documentation of findings in asset integrity database, generate inspection reports/SAP notifications to inform the concerned individuals/departments about any issues and suggest corrective measures in order to improve reliability of all Plant & machinery and structures.

▪ Support Reliability Initiatives of Equipment Reliability Group

Corrosion Study and Management

▪ Formulates, Plans, coordinates and implements corrosion/erosion monitoring, prevention and maintenance programs.

▪ Manage Corrosion study to Identify and define corrosion loops, define them and maintain them in Asset Integrity database and inspection program.

▪ Provides technical advice on strategies f or repair and replacement specifications f or various engineering and plant modification projects, including all metallurgical aspects, repair techniques, materials selection, inspection and testing requirements, and makes recommendations based upon field observation and corrosion management principles.

▪ Carries out performance evaluation of coating and painting conditions. Recommends best options for paint and coating systems to ensure optimum protection.

▪ Monitors corrosion/erosion rate of critical process and production equipment, structures, pipelines, vessels and piping systems of the facilities.

▪ Support RBI assessment by giving data and information such as identifying damage mechanisms and failure modes with respect to process, operating condition and material of construction.

▪ Carries out fitness for service evaluation on existing metallurgy in all equipment and structures. Performs life cycle cost analysis on metallurgy of process equipment and piping systems, and recommends the best options on the materials to be used.

▪ Identifies and implements corrosion/erosion mitigation ideas to improve operational performance, increase facilities integrity and reduce maintenance cost.

▪ Evaluates effectiveness of Corrosion Inhibitor programs and make recommendations based on the f indings.

▪ Monitors Corrosion Probes, Cathodic protection systems and Projected Corrosion Rates f or process equipment and piping systems based on process conditions.

▪ Review and actively evaluate the chemical treatment programs jointly with Process engineering to recommend and advise f or the right chemical injection criteria

▪ Participates in preparation of Capital and Operating budgets f or Inspection Unit. Monitors and reconciles

capital and operating expenditure against planned budget f or Corrosion Management activities, and redresses any variances to ensure ef f ective cost control.

▪ Acts as custodian of company’s Corrosion Management.

▪ Prepares various corrosion and integrity reports with full interpretation and recommendations.

Cathodic Protection

▪ Ef f icient Management of Q-Chem Cathodic protection program which include all plant and machinery including with Cathodic protection. This includes but not limited to Tanks, underground piping, concrete structures, Dock jetty etc.

▪ Manage and administer the Cathodic protection contract as Designated site representative (DSR)

▪ Co-ordinate with QP f or maintaining integrity of f eed pipelines including uti lities and other related process lines outside Q-Chem f ence, but has direct impact on Q-Chem operations.

▪ Co-ordinate with QP f or maintaining integrity of Dock jetty.
