Local Compliance Officer
Reporting to General Manager and European Compliance Officer, the purpose of this function is to execute the compliance cycle for DLL which includes risk assessments, monitoring actions, incident handling, reporting and advise.
Key compliance themes are AML, reporting and liaising with the Regulator, Anti-Corruption, Data Protection, Market Abuse, Conflicts of Interest and Customer Due Diligence. You will maintain working relations with the DLL Compliance network and the Centres of Expertise and Compliance Officers in the Rabo Compliance network. You are expected to contribute to the further professionalizing of the global compliance function of DLL, both in projects and in your day to day activities.
Day to day:
- Ensuring, together with the business that the Compliance Procedures are complied with.
- Ensuring implementation, dissemination and monitoring of the compliance framework.
- Conducting investigations and monitoring of business processes.
- Identifying developments in compliance area of interest for the business.
- Providing awareness sessions for the business.
- Supporting in risk assessments and the compliance monitoring program within your business lines.
- Supporting employees with clear advice regarding the applicable laws and regulations, on a transactional basis if required, but also in terms of policies, procedures and processes.
- Assisting the business in tailoring group/global compliance policies into locally applicable practices suited to the business and processes of the business line.
- Providing training to staff on all relevant compliance themes.
- Point of Contact with the Regulator, ensuring that reporting and information requests are accomplished in a timely manner.

Essentials:
- Graduate in Law.
- Deep understanding of the European Financial Services Regulatory environment and an ability to understand legislation quickly.
- Deep understanding of the Portuguese Financial Services Regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of the marketplace and informed on general economic issues.
- Strong commitment to delivering results.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese (verbal and written).
- Experienced in working with personnel from all levels of an organization, including Senior Management.
- Experienced in handling confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence different stakeholders.
- Established analytical ability as well as strong project management skills.
- 3-5 years experience in related areas (compliance, risk, legal, audit, etc) with strong performance.
