Description
Kumon Early Learner Assistant
This position is ideal for senior high school students or early university students who can work a minimum of 2 shifts per week (4 hours each) and commit for a minimum of one year.
You should also enjoy working with young students and have a passion for early education.
The ideal applicant MUST:
- Have strong English reading and writing skills
- Have a good grasp of English grammar concepts
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of English phonics (sounds)
- Have strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task
- Be efficient and attentive to detail
- Show good, positive work ethic
- Learn quickly
- Enjoy teaching and managing children ages 3-8 with different learning abilities and behavioural challenges.
- Be willing to learn the Kumon method
- Be willing to complete tests and worksheets for his/her own development
- Be consistently available twice a week - Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Fridays (3:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
- Commit for a minimum of one year
- Be at least in grade 11 or in early university
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience teaching or caring for young children, especially between the ages of 3 to 8
- Knowledge of the Kumon program and materials

Part-time hours: 8 per week
Salary: $16.75 per hour
