Introduction
We are seeking a skilled back-end developer to join our IBM Software team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Your main duties will include designing and implementing new features, optimizing and maintaining existing code, and ensuring the software meets high-quality standards through testing and debugging. You will also work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to ensure the software meets user needs.
What you’ll do:
- Implement improvements and new features using our tech stack. Write clean, concise code that is stable, extensible, and unit-tested appropriately
- Work together with the architects and tech leads on the architecture and design of the new parts of the lineage platform.
- Lead and supervise reasonably large development initiatives and improvements, actively cooperate with the product manager to deliver a true customer value.
- Provide thorough code reviews to ensure our code quality is still top notch.
- Assist the more junior colleagues in the team with the designs and implementation so they can learn and grow.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Great coding habits - you are able to produce readable self-explanatory code and help your junior colleagues by providing them in-depth code reviews.
- Broad understanding of Java and JVM in general.
- Solid orientation in the Java libraries and frameworks ecosystem (Spring, Apache libraries,).
- We do a lot of parsing - any ANTLR knowledge is a huge plus.
- Ability and willingness to lead small development initiatives.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in software development.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Software engineering; Master degree is preferred, or relevant professional experience.
