As far as IT is concerned, you can work from any Vodafone location: Brno, Ostrava, Meziboří, Chrudim but of course anywhere in the Czech Republic.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Digital Engineering department, responsible for a team of highly skilled developers delivering complex development projects across a variety of products and technologies for our customers. You will lead a team of 23 Developers who are distributed across a number of squads delivering a range of exciting products and services mostly in React and React Native. You will also be a key part of the front end transformation to React.
Position is a typical Agile role, combining team leader / tech leader / hands on /mentor role.

Job purpose:

  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, ensuring effective collaboration and productivity.
  • Time Management: Oversee and control team timesheets, ensuring accurate tracking of hours and efficient use of time.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor and control the progress of various IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Personnel Management: Handle human resources responsibilities such as approving vacations, conducting hiring processes, and making firing decisions in collaboration with the technical leader.
  • Technical Understanding: Possess a comprehensive understanding of the specific IT chapter, though not necessarily needing senior-level expertise in the technology itself.
  • Methodology Knowledge: Have a strong grasp of project management, agile methodologies, and DevOps culture, ensuring these principles are applied effectively in all projects.
  • Communication Skills: Must possess excellent written and spoken English skills, enabling effective communication with team members and stakeholders.

What skills we need:

  • Proven experience in managing IT teams.
  • Familiarity with the specific IT chapter being managed.
  • Strong understanding of project management and agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps culture and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
