The data engineer is responsible for all database administration tasks including requirement elucidation, analysis, design of database objects, and implementation of ETL and data engineering for various ODI projects.
You will regularly work with the Operations Digital Innovation (ODI) Data Science team and will be engaged in a diverse set of project-specific tasks related to the development and deployment of the database. you should possess experience with a variety of database administration responsibilities and technical proficiency in SQL Server and integration services as well as be able to perform ETL and Semantic model creation in an AWS cloud environment
- Proactive Monitoring: Monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failures, and address issues promptly
- Error Resolution: Respond in a timely manner to user-reported errors and provide prompt resolution
- Security and Maintenance: Configure and maintain SQL Security controls, manage backups and recovery, and ensure data integrity and protection
- Perform source to target data analysis and mappings
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to existing systems and processes
- Document data engineering processes, guidelines, and best practices
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent working experience
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS
- Basic understanding of AWS concepts is a plus
- Databricks, AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena and PySpark are plus
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and related data services
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including fluency in English)
