Job Overview:
Structural design and analysis of an assigned scope of work in a MDR project including specific complex deliverables such steel process structures, halls, modules, pipe and cable racks. Work includes, among other things, conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and construction documents.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
- Mentors junior Structural Engineers and depending on size and complexity of scope of work may be assigned as the Civil/Structural Engineering Lead for a project.
- Maintains and promotes a focus on MDR’s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
- Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
- Ensures effective management of change.
- Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Engineering
- 3-10 yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Preferably member of professional engineering society as applicable.
- Eager to learn.
- Working knowledge of English, both verbal and written.
- HSE, TQM and cost conscious.
Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:
The reassignment to other departments, construction sites and fabrication yards.
- The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays.
- The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload (also other projects) when possible/desirable.
- Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions.
