Introduction:
The (IC3) Data Quality Lead will play a pivotal role in establishing and implementing an effective Data Quality Framework across the organisation, ensuring that data quality is at the heart of each lighthouse system and all critical business processes. This role will take ownership of defining the relevant DQ policies and practices, and work cross-functionally to implement the approrpiate technical and process controls across the entire data network of the organisation. This role will also own the monitoring of DQ across the lighthouse systems through appropriate means, and work towards elevating the standard of DQ as part of continuous improvement. As a key member of our Data Services team, the role is responsible for ensuring data quality and its effective measurement, while promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Quality Management ("the how"):
  • Develop and implement an effective Data Quality Framework
  • Standardise data profiling & data quality assessment activities across the wider business
  • Develop data quality standards and processes as appropriate
  • Establish and enforce data quality policies and procedures.
  • Standardise data quality monitoring across lighthosue systems and critical business processes
  • Drive and support initiatives to address data quality concerns to ensure compliance with data quality standards
  • Implement and manage data quality tools and technologies
  • Quality Assurance ("the doing"):
  • Develop and maintain data quality metrics and KPIs
  • Design and execute data quality tests and audits
  • Develop and maintain data quality scorecards and reports
  • Monitor and raise data quality issues in a timely manner with appropriate owners
  • Enforce data quality by design when defining new processes and/or redesigning existing ones
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data quality issues
  • Work closely with data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders to appropriate define and implement the Data Quality Framework
  • Provide training and support to teams on data quality best practices
  • Actively encourage data first mindset with all stakeholders
  • Documentation:
  • Document and maintain the Data Quality Framework
  • Document data quality processes, procedures, and guidelines
  • Maintain documentation on data quality standards and metadata
  • Create and maintain a data quality issue log

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a data management, data quality, or a related field
  • Experience with data quality tools and technologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data privacy regulations
  • Familiarity with data cataloging, metadata management, and data classification tools.
  • Knowledge of data-related regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and industry best practices

Education:

  • Required - Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics)
  • Preferred - Certifications in data management or data quality (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional - CIMP).
