- CIVIL-STRUCTURAL ENGINEER- EFI Global is a full-service consulting structural, civil and forensic investigation firm serving a variety of industries in both the public and private sectors based in Albany on the North Shore. We provide innovative, practical and cost-effective solutions for a range of projects - from the everyday to the most challenging.- We have an exciting opportunity for a civil/structural engineer to join our EFI Global team. This role will suit a chartered engineer (or a person who is close to achieving this), who is looking to step into a senior role that will allow them to grow and advance their career within a small team that is comprised of five engineers and two administrators. Based in our Albany office, you will be exposed to a diverse range of civil, structural and specialist reporting projects for our nationwide client base. There is also an opportunity to work closely with our Sedgwick loss adjusting business and assist clients not only in feasibility, design, procurement and construction of any project but also causative reports such as root cause analysis and any forensic engineering reporting requirements.Desired skills and qualities for this role include:- 5+ years experience in the New Zealand consulting, civil and structural engineering environment and a sound understanding of the construction process
- Be a New Zealand Chartered Engineer (or a person who is close to achieving this)
- Knowledge of CAD based design packages
- Ambitious and keen to develop with a passion for knowledge, design and construction
- Confident to work independently both in the field and office in a supportive team environment
- Have strong communication skills
- A “How can I help you?” attitude
- Have a good grip/understanding on how things work and are put together- Main duties and responsibilities:- Civil and structural design and supervision
- Field inspections to civil and structural sites
- Assisting and helping the Engineering Team
- Assuring the technical delivery on a consistent basis.
- Help mentor and develop lesser experienced engineers in the team
