Job Summary:
The Chapter Leader - Service Owner Middleware plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the strategic direction, design, implementation, and operational efficiency of middleware services within the organization. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with managerial responsibilities, requiring a strong understanding of middleware technologies and the ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals. The Chapter Leader collaborates closely with cross functional teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the optimal performance and security of middleware services.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:

  • Lead and inspire a team of middleware professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for middleware services aligned with organizational goals.

Design and Implementation:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of middleware solutions, ensuring alignment with
  • best practices and industry standards.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure successful integration of new middleware
  • technologies.

Operational Excellence:

  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring the availability, performance, and stability of
  • middleware services.
  • Establish and optimize processes for proactive monitoring, incident management, and
  • continuous improvement.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and oversee robust security measures to protect middleware services from
  • potential threats.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards and
  • regulations.
  • Collaboration and Communication.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, business
  • units, and external partners.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-oriented language.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of middleware
  • professionals.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical
  • concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a keen understanding of business objectives.
  • Must fulfil the requirements to obtain an EU security clearance

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (7 years) in managing middleware services, with a proven track record of leadership.
  • Proven experience with middleware products and tools such as Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache, SOA/BPM/OSB
  • Experience with tools such as Documentum, Liferay, Wildfly, Redis is an asset
  • Relevant certifications in middleware technologies (e.g., Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere)
  • are a plus.
