Service Owner Middleware
Job Summary:
The Chapter Leader - Service Owner Middleware plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the strategic direction, design, implementation, and operational efficiency of middleware services within the organization. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with managerial responsibilities, requiring a strong understanding of middleware technologies and the ability to lead and mentor a team of professionals. The Chapter Leader collaborates closely with cross functional teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure the optimal performance and security of middleware services.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Lead and inspire a team of middleware professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for middleware services aligned with organizational goals.
Design and Implementation:
- Oversee the design and implementation of middleware solutions, ensuring alignment with
- best practices and industry standards.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure successful integration of new middleware
- technologies.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring the availability, performance, and stability of
- middleware services.
- Establish and optimize processes for proactive monitoring, incident management, and
- continuous improvement.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and oversee robust security measures to protect middleware services from
- potential threats.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards and
- regulations.
- Collaboration and Communication.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, business
- units, and external partners.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-oriented language.
Professional Development:
- Support the professional development of team members, identifying training needs and
- providing opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in the middleware space.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of middleware
- professionals.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical
- concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with a keen understanding of business objectives.
- Must fulfil the requirements to obtain an EU security clearance
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (7 years) in managing middleware services, with a proven track record of leadership.
- Proven experience with middleware products and tools such as Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache, SOA/BPM/OSB
- Experience with tools such as Documentum, Liferay, Wildfly, Redis is an asset
- Relevant certifications in middleware technologies (e.g., Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere)
- are a plus.
