We require an Halal Butchery Assistant to work in our popular halal butchery shop located in Hamilton. Great opportunity to work with a friendly team in a busy store and showcase some of your amazing meat cutting and preparation skills along with customer service skills. This is a Full Time opportunity with a minimum of 30 hours work per week
- 1 year of work experience in a butchery
- Flexibility to work within a 7 days week operations
- Willing to work on weekends and public holidays
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Have a good interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude and good work ethics
- A NZ citizen/resident or holds a valid NZ work visa
Role description
- Ensure that meat is cut to the requirements of the shop manager and customers
- Ensure customers receive prompt service, meat cut to high standard and meeting customer needs, is proficient in various meat cuts as desired by customers from diverse backgrounds - Indian subcontinent, Asian, Middle Eastern, African and Kiwi customers
- Ensure the meat products are handled with good hygiene practices, meat is kept in right temperature, storage areas and equipment’s are kept clean and tidy, products are stocked in the right order
- Ensure the meat cutting is done in a hygienic way maintaining high standards of health & safety Take inventory of goods for sale and order new stock
- demonstrating and explaining to customers the establishment's goods and services
- determining customer requirements and advising on product range and serving them for sales of products
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $29.70 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
