As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Job Requirements
You must have at least 2 years or more of experience working as a mechanic or in similar roles
OR
You must have suitable qualifications which are relevant to this role
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify and diagnose mechanical issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Repair or replace defective components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems, in accordance with New Zealand standards.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical diagnostics using specialized tools and equipment.
- Perform engine tune-ups and ensure vehicles meet emission and safety standards as required by New Zealand law.
- Accurately document all repairs and maintenance activities, complying with record-keeping regulations.
- Test drive vehicles to verify the effectiveness of repairs and conduct necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and explaining repair procedures.
