Assistant Director of Studies - Junior Programmes

Babel Academy of English, opened in 2017, is an MEI member school located in Dublin city centre. We offer adult and junior English language programmes and services. We pride ourselves on the supportive, welcoming environment we offer students and the high educational standards we maintain.

Role:

  • Coordinating junior programmes
  • Supporting the Director of Studies to ensure that a high-quality academic programme is delivered
  • Assisting with the planning and organisation of teaching staff and resources
  • Academic administration and data management
  • Providing academic guidance and support to students
  • Promoting a positive approach to continuous professional development, sharing and innovation in teaching
  • Working closely with the management team and liaising with other school departments
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of students and staff at all times
  • Teaching hours as assigned by the Director of Studies (when required on a cover or part-time basis)

Required:

  • Level 7 major award on the NFQ (Bachelor degree or equivalent)
  • CELTA or CertTESOL including observed teaching
  • Experience teaching EFL to both adults and junior students
  • Knowledge of English Language examinations (including Cambridge, Trinity)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills including extensive experience with MS Suite
  • Flexibility and ability to work calming under pressure, experience working in a busy environment
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Applicants MUST be eligible to work in Ireland

Desired:

  • DELTA or Dip TESOL
  • Master's in Education

Salary: €34,000.00-€36,000.00 per year
