Description
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for maintaining, developing, and testing mechanical components, machinery, and equipment using applied knowledge of engineering principles. This may include fabricating, operating, installing, or repairing design products such as motors, instruments, control panels, and other machines. Other engineering functions will fall under the direction of the Mechanical Engineer on a project-by-project basis. A background in Automobile engineering would be an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Applies basic engineering concepts and principles during the design and development of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and optical instrumentation and equipment. This includes the production of technical drawings and specifications. This position utilizes 3D Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) software for the design of instruments and equipment.
- Assists supervisor during discussions with staff scientists, engineers, instrument makers, and technicians to determine the instrument and equipment specifications.
- Assists in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing during the development of instrumentation.
- Maintains the SolidWorks PDM vault or equivalent and performs duties as the SolidWorks Administrator.
Salary: ﷼4,000.00 - ﷼6,000.00 per month
