Butchery Assistant/apprentice/knife Hand

We are looking for a someone that would like to join our Butchery team and work towards becoming a qualified butcher. If you are someone that has an interest in butchery, ready to give it a go to see if you can make a career out of it, or if you are someone that already has experience in butchery and wants to take their learning further to becoming a qualified butcher this could be the role for you!!

The Role:

  • Support the butchers in preparing meat, traying up product, and replenishing the store.
  • Ensure a high standard of quality and presentation through the department at all times of the day.
  • Work towards becoming a qualified Butcher by working with two very experienced Butchers.
  • Ensure Food Safety standards are maintained through completion of appropriate cleaning, temp checks and traceability forms.

What are we looking for?

  • Someone that is hard working, reliable and passionate about working in this industry.
  • Someone that is great at following instructions, enjoy hands on learning,
  • You need to be able to support butchers in preparing, packing, and replenishing all meat types (Beef, Chicken, Pork, Lamb, & Fish)
  • Someone that is prepared to work in a refrigerated environment.
  • Experience in butchery and knife skills is an advantage.
  • A fantastic attitude, work ethic and passion for making a workplace great.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Days & Hours?

  • Monday: 7am till 4pm
  • Tuesday: 8am till 5pm
  • Friday: 8am till 5pm
  • Saturday: 8am till 5pm
