Located in Dublin, Cruiserath Biologics Campus, a one billion Multi-Product Cell Culture Biologics Manufacturing facility plays a central role in the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) network as the company’s first European biologics manufacturing facility. This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company’s growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus.

The Role

BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit on a permanent contract Senior Manager, EOHSS, reporting to Associate Director, EOHSS.

The primary focus of this role is to support Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) as the Senior Manager or EOHSS within the Department of Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety and Sustainability (EOHSS) at the Cruiserath facility. The individual in this role will be responsible for leading the site’s environmental, occupational health, safety, and sustainability efforts within the internal manufacturing space to drive long-term company and stakeholder value. The position will support the execution of strategies to maintain a safe, health, and environmental compliant site. This position plays a key role in executing corporate and local policies and procedures. This role is a team play who enables and fosters a proactive and integrated EOHSS culture that promotes a positive, proactive approach throughout all site operations.

In this role, The Senior Manager will report to the EOHSS Associate Director within the department of Environment, Occupational Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EOHSS) at the Cruiserath facility.

The Senior Manager will coordinate, implement, assess, and improve environmental, safety, occupational health, sustainability outcomes at the direction of the EOHSS Associate Director using global and local regulations and consensus guides, BMS management systems, policies, and procedures. The Senior manager will promote compliant, forward-leaning culture and preserve BMS’ reputation while driving shared Company objectives at the direction of the site Director. The senior manager will be expected to approach the coordination of these tasks in alignment with the BMS values of integrity, inclusion, passion, innovation, urgency, and accountability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementation of new and updating/improving EOHSS programs, policies, to ensure that they meet BMS standards, compliance with EU, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for EOHSS regulatory preparedness and building rapport and trust through all interactions (external agencies and internal stakeholders)
  • Execute EOHSS programs and processes with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Participates in EOHSS operational and tier discussions, EOHSS committees and teams; and EOHSS self-assessments and audits at the direction of the site Director
  • Stops operations and activities that could harm the environment, workforce, or facilities.
  • SME for human factors, functional safety, HAZOP/HAZID, Investigations, Equipment EOHSS Compliance and Design Philosophy.
  • Collaborates on EOHSS governance structures and forums at the direction of the Associate Director
  • System user of site EOHSS IT systems and execution tools.
  • Acts with integrity to provide accurate resolution of issues as they arise and is transparent in escalating site or enterprise impactful issues to the Associate Director

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Working knowledge of applicable EU/Irish regulations.
  • Strong Incident Investigation and Corrective and Preventative Action technical skills.
  • Ability to flex with change and attend to multiple issues with a sense of calm.
  • Operates with a high degree of transparency and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
