Purchasing Officer

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing day-to-day procurement and inventory management activities.

  • Manages daily procurement duties and activities based on predefined workflows.
  • Keeps accurate records of purchases, proposals, and market pricing to facilitate procurement activities, including TBEs and CBEs.
  • Facilitates any required technical evaluations associated with supplier proposals, ensuring that all relevant expert stakeholders within IN-Q are thoroughly consulted and engaged.
  • Conducts commercial evaluations, including the analysis of price proposals and tenders from suppliers, and prepares financial analyses and recommendations for management and procurement comittees
  • Communicates and negotiates with vendors/suppliers in order to obtain the best price and terms
  • Ensures that vendors comply completely with the terms of all tenders and contract awards
  • Attends local trade fairs and conventions to stay abreast of the most recent suppliers, products, market conditions, etc.
  • Develops and maintains accurate demand forecasts for products to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Analyzes historical data, market trends, and sales patterns to predict future demand.
  • Collaborates with operational units and production teams to gather information for forecasting.
  • Monitors inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, ensuring items are available when needed.
  • Implements inventory control mechanisms like reorder points, safety stock, and economic order quantities.
  • Regularly reviews and advises about inventory parameters based on changes in demand and supply.
  • Analyzes inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Generates and presents regular reports to management regarding inventory performance, stock levels, and procurement activities.
  • Develops contingency plans to address unforeseen inventory-related challenges.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to inventory management and procurement.
  • Maintains accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and inventory transactions
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred
  • Certifications related to supply chain or procurement

Pay: Up to QAR12,300.00 per month
