Description
The Markets Operations manager is an intermediate level position responsible for handling transactions originating from trading desks in coordination with the in country Operations teams. The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the confirmation, settlement and investigation of client FX, MM, Securities and Derivatives transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Processing and resolving problems which require an evaluation of basic FX, MM, Securities and Derivatives processing procedures and industry standards
- Ensure strict compliance with legal, regulatory policies, bank policies, procedures, accounting and reporting requirements.
- Offer solutions for assigned FX, MM, Securities and Derivatives processing areas
- Work on all exception items in NOSTRO accounts, ensure that they are promptly investigated and that timely follow-ups are done with the defaulting parties. When required, escalate to the Unit Head for further escalation to the country operations Heads and Markets Operations Senior Management.
- Work on monthly/quarterly proofing of General Ledger accounts
- Be well conversant with departmental procedures, MIS and reporting & governance activities.
- Assist with the exploration and development of new automated solutions for existing manual controls.
- Perform the Managers Control Assessment testing and submit the results in Citirisk system on monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual basis.
- Address queries and ensure quick and timely resolution of customer (internal and external) cases with respect to all products and processes handled by the unit.
- Perform quality assurance reviews, procedural updates and report operational risk events in a timely manner.
- Participate in system implementation projects as well as system enhancement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree
