THE COMPANY

There are multiple large scale apartment projects currently in progress around Australia, with many new upcoming projects. The team consists of talented professionals chosen from some of the best architectural studios and engineering practices across Australia.

THE ROLE:
As a result of the multi-residential sector booming post-covid and the borders opening back up, they are looking for an experienced Engineering Design Manager who can bring their years of local construction experience of high-rise buildings and manage the interface between external Engineers and Architects. This role is available due to business growth & an increased capacity in workflow.

$180,000-$210,000k + super
TYPICAL DAY:

  • Manage delivery of design documentation from external consultants
  • Review consultants designs for code compliance and in accordance with companies' construction methods
  • Review scheme to find value engineering to minimise construction costs &/or program
  • Prepare, manage and review tenders for various subcontracts

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering - particularly structural (ESSENTIAL):

  • 10+ years as a Senior Project Engineer or Design Manager in Australia (ESSENTIAL):

  • 40+ storey buildings + high level of ETABS software + Precast + PT slab design (ESSENTIAL):

  • Previous experience with a Tier 1 Developer or Head

  • Contractor
  • Strong negotiation skills & problem project management
  • Previous experience in a similar role
