Retail Manager

As a key leadership position within our store, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, lead a team of retail team members, ensure exceptional customer service and create a positive and engaging shopping environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Store Manager and peers to achieve company objectives, maximise sales and profitability, and provide leadership to the team.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of retail departments, ensuring efficient administration processes and contributing to cost management targets.
  • Take accountability for overall retail service delivery, merchandise activities, sales, stock management, cost management, and productivity.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage team members, including roster management and prompt resolution of team issues in line with company values.
  • Lead the development of exciting marketing initiatives, oversee promotions and events, and ensure their successful implementation.
  • Drive training and development of the team.
  • Champion Health and safety in line with company and national requirements.

Requirements for the role:

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a retail environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a proven track record of delivering excellent customer experiences.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Solid understanding of retail operations, including sales techniques, inventory management, merchandising principles, and Health and Safety policies.
  • Confidence to take on management duties, supervise, coach, and build trust within the team. Demonstrates excellence in customer service, adaptability, flexibility, time management, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for promoting safe work practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic software systems (Excel, Word, communication platforms) and experience with rostering.
  • Strong background in retail management and operations.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and wellness practices within the retail industry.
  • Scope of the role includes key holder responsibilities, direct management of a team of 12-15 reports, and engagement with the Store Manager on financial focus points and the wider business strategy.
