As part of our team you will be supporting clients in a Recovery Service to maintain their recovery, and achieve their goads as outlined in their individual support plans.

About the role

As a Twilight Support Worker, you’ll help to support clients in their daily needs. You will contribute to ensuring effective and consistent best-practice standards are followed in the Dublin Simon Community accommodation services. From facilitating participation initiatives, to working with the wider team to discuss and plan how to best support the clients with their goals, each day you’ll help clients to achieve their goals and change their lives. As well as our induction program, you will be provided with 10 training days throughout the year, ensuring you have the support and training to succeed in this role.

Contract Type: Part-time / Permanent
Working Hours: 22.5 hours a week (includes 4 hr evening shifts and12.5-hour night shifts (Monday to Sunday availability)

Location: Ellen Hall in Inchicore and Roylands house in Tallaght

Salary: 14.62 p/h moving to 15 p/h after probation + extra 12% Night Allowance.

Your responsibilities

  • Partake in handover with Recovery staff in Ellen Hall or Roylands House on arrival for shift.
  • Adhere to working alone policy and all service policies
  • Carry out health and safety checks including fire safety checks, building security checks and client wellbeing checks.
  • Meet and greet all clients and ensure they are comfortable and have what they need for a restful night. Ensure that any new admissions of the day are safe and feel welcomed in the new space and can locate everything the need.
  • Be aware of Fire safety of the building and ensure you are aware of the fire safety procedure for Ellen Hall and Roylands services. Ensure sign in/out is being completed by all entering/exiting the building.
  • Ensure offices and communal areas are clean and tidy and all food is cleared away, surfaces clean, washing up completed, and food and other stock replenished in the communal areas
  • Ensure breath testing and adherence to client curfew is carried out and other interventions as the needs arise while on shift.
  • Monitor CCTV, non smoking policy, and ensure client and building H & S checks carried as per service policy.
  • Update PASS, Bed lists and provide assistance with SES sheets and other administration as the need arises.
  • Ensure kitchen and communal areas are clean and tidy and check food stock rotation.

  • To work in line with your individual score card to achieve the organisational strategy.
  • To work with the team in the delivery of the “Recovery Model” of treatment through CBT and CRA
  • To engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with clients treating them with dignity and respect in order to work within the values of Dublin Simon Community.
  • Work closely with recovery team to contribute to supporting clients to work towards the goals set down in their care plan.
  • To perform tasks related to the running and maintenance of an effective residential service such as hygiene in the service, security of the building, conservation of energy.
  • To assist with the preparation of reports, statistics and other information as required by Dublin Simon Community, to adhere to good record keeping guidelines and usage of the Pass and Internal IT Systems.
  • To perform as a full team member supporting colleagues, participating in effective handovers and communicating promptly in order to ensure effective working relationships.
  • To attend internal meetings such as team meetings, working groups and planning days as requested by the manager.
  • Ensure clients are consulted and involved in the operation of the project as far as possible through the client groups in Dublin Simon Community.

Ensure compliance with organisation policies to ensure consistent delivery of service and maintenance of quality standards in an alcohol and drug free environment.

Essential for the role:

  • Qualifications:_

NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant field and 6 months relevant experience
Or
NFQ level 6 qualification in a relevant field and *1year of relevant experience

Or

NFQ Level 5 qualification in health, community, or social care and 2 years relevant experience, including experience in a residential setting.
