The Company
My client is a privately owned NZ company based in the city operating in the property and Financial Services sector. The company has been operating in its niche space and has managed to build a great reputation in a short space of time. The business is now looking for a CFO to join a close knit head office team of circa 10 people to partner the MD and provide the financial stewardship to this business.
The Role
The role of CFO is broad encompassing both the financial responsibilities of the business but also the risk and compliance matters required for this industry with its statutory and regulatory obligations. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Board with the development of the annual strategic plan and work with the CEO to implement and drive this plan
- Develop and implement financial and tax strategies
- Drive the budgeting & forecasting process
- Drive a performance measurement environment and report thereon to ensure strong performance of the business
- Monitor and manage the treasury function
- Manage, mentor & develop a small finance & compliance team
- Ensure all statutory, audit & tax reporting requirements are met
- Prepare full Board reports and be an active member of the Board itself
- Ensure all systems, policies and procedures of the business are maximised to ensure financial stewardship
- Ensure all investor needs are met from an operational, regulatory & reporting perspective
- Ensure the compliance framework of this business is effectively managed, reviewing and developing as required
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Your profile:
To be considered for this role we are looking for someone with the following attributes and skills:
- CA is a must have
- Property investment experience desirable or alternatively funds management / financial services experience
- Working knowledge of AML
- No ego as this is a small flat structured team.
- Hands on approach where you will roll up the sleeves as required
- Relaxed but driven approach
- Down to earth personality
- Strong attention to detail with a genuine interest in processes and controls
If you started life in a business advisory capacity and moved your career down the commercial space this would be attractive.
This company can offer hybrid working but does require someone that is also keen to be in the office as and when required. Parking is also provided with the role
