We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Controller **to join our real estate tech company. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Budgeting:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the annual budget, including setting financial goals and objectives.

  • Develop long-range financial plans and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills:

  • The ability to dissect information, identify key points, and analyze potential risks and opportunities within a contract.

  • Accounting & Internal Controls:

  • Oversee the entire accounting function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

  • Manage and develop internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Manage tax preparation and filing, ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns.

  • Stay informed of changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure the company's policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Provide leadership and guidance, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.

  • Build strong relationships with other departments within the company to ensure alignment between financial goals and overall business objectives. (essential)
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic financial insights and recommendations. (essential)
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving financial needs. (essential)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a financial accounting role overseeing the financial aspects of a business. Financial management of real estate is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting. Familiarity with real estate operations is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS (as applicable) and relevant accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in Quickbooks Online.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
