About the Role
Te Whānau o Waipareira is searching for a dynamic Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team. This is a fixed-term fulltime opportunity for the next 12 months.
As the Accounts Assistant, you will provide effective and timely financial support to the overarching Accounts team. You will support performance across the team and pride yourself on the delivery of safe, efficient, and accountable financial practices.
In this role, you will ensure accurate entry of Whānau Direct transactions into the database, coordinate administration tasks related to effective processing, respond promptly to queries, maintain proper filing of documentation, and process Whānau Direct payments online daily. Your mahi will also include support with credit card and voucher management - maintaining accurate databases and processing any reconciliations/journals as required.
Skills & Experience
- Strong commitment to Te Reo me ōna tikanga.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Proficient ICT skills and knowledge of accounting systems.
- Strong time management, data entry, and analytical skills.
- Highly adaptable, flexible, and embracing of change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of relevant financial legislation preferred.
