We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working Market Manager to join our team at Howth Market. Based in Howth, we are an intimate yet very busy location. Our weekend market brings together farmers, artisans, and community members to celebrate street food, fresh produce, locally crafted goods, and sustainable living.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of market operations, including vendor recruitment, booth assignments, and logistics planning.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the market and attract new vendors and customers.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with vendors, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with market rules and regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Manage market finances, including vendor fees, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Oversee market setup and breakdown, including equipment rentals, signage, and waste management.
- Plan and coordinate special events and activities to enhance the market experience for visitors.
- Act as a liaison between the market and the community, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in event planning, farmers market management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of light maintenance.
- Knowledge of agriculture and food safety regulations preferred.
- Ability to work weekends as needed.
