Database Admin

We are currently seeking a Database Admin to join our team in Belen, Heredia (CR-H), Costa Rica (CR).

*Experience - *2 to 4 years

Responsibilities:
1. Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user's specialized role

  1. Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views

  2. Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner

  3. Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data

  4. Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses

  5. Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users

  6. Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards

  7. Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity


Skills required:
1. Proven working experience as a Database Administrator

  1. Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL

  2. Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding

  3. Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools

  4. Familiarity with programming languages API

  5. Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically


Nice to Have

  1. Experience working in SCRUM methodology

  2. Proven sense of high accountability and self-drive to take on and see through big challenges

  3. Confident, takes ownership, willingness to get the job done

  4. Excellent verbal communications and cross group collaboration skills


Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required
