WSP are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join our team for a significant airport infrastructure construction project based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring financial success, and facilitating efficient contractual and procurement processes.
Your new role, what's involved?
- Contract Management: Manage all commercial aspects of contracts related to the airport infrastructure project. Review, negotiate, and finalize contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures to ensure financial targets are met. Implement effective cost control measures and provide regular financial reports to the project management team.
- Procurement: Oversee procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, and evaluation of bids from suppliers and subcontractors. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess commercial risks associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement risk management procedures to safeguard the company's interests.
- Claims and Variations: Analyze and manage claims and variations arising during the project lifecycle. Collaborate with the project team to address disputes and negotiate fair resolutions with clients and subcontractors.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including cash flow projections, profit and loss statements, and cost-benefit analyses, to senior management and clients.
- Change Management: Monitor project changes and deviations from original agreements and contracts. Ensure proper documentation of changes and assess their impact on project costs and timelines.
- Compliance and Legal Matters: Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to commercial practices in Saudi Arabia. Ensure project compliance with legal requirements and contractual obligations.
- Client Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns. Actively engage with clients to address commercial inquiries and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination regarding commercial matters.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required. Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in airport infrastructure or large-scale construction projects is essential. Minimum of 14 years of professional experience.
- Chartership: Possess a professional membership such as MRICS, MCIArb, MCIOB or similar.
- Contract and Procurement Expertise: In-depth knowledge of contract management, procurement procedures, and commercial best practices within the construction industry, especially related to airport projects.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, with the ability to analyze budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports. Experience in financial modeling and forecasting is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic. Ability to present complex commercial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to reach favorable outcomes for the company. Experience in handling contract negotiations and commercial disputes.
- Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. Experience in managing commercial teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex commercial situations and make informed decisions.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
