Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) *to join our team! In this role you will get to *oversee all quantity surveying activities related to the construction of the new Opera House.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Prepare cost estimates and evaluating tender documents.
- Conduct feasibility studies focusing on MEP works.
- Liaise with the team to ensure prompt submittal and completeness of BOQ and Estimates are accurate and ensure quality standard are maintained.
- Advise the QS/Estimator's on measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities.
- Evaluate the unit rates for new work items and present to the estimating manager for review with supporting documents.
- Analyze construction drawings and specifications to accurately estimate quantities of materials and labor required for each project phase.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Manage subcontractor contracts, prepare progress reports, and handle variations and claims.
- Reviewing of the submitted Invoices by the Contractor with attention to detail.
- Play a crucial role in cost control and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in all commercial/Estimation presentation and meetings with Client.
- Any other task associated with the role.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field from a recognized university / institution.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying in MEP and a minimum of 3 years experience in GCC (KSA experience ideally).
- Proven track record of managing quantity surveying aspects for MEP engineering projects, including cost estimation, tendering, contract administration, and cost control.
- Experience in both pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools, such as CostX, Revit or similar.
- Experience in preparing, negotiating, and administering contracts, including change orders and claims management.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is preferred.
- Professional Membership of MRICS is preferable.
