Senior Technologist, Nuclear Medicine

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre-Medina, Saudi Arabia

Performs imaging procedures with emphasis on leadership in scheduling, Radio Pharmacy (RPH), Nuclear Cardiology, Quality Control, new staff, and student training.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Performs all patient imaging with attention to patient care, quality imaging, and efficient management of

time.

  1. Communicates with the Nuclear Medicine (NC) physicians to ensure that all images are satisfactory.

  2. Coordinates daily activities of NC section as assigned and communicates all necessary related issues.

  3. Coordinates the function of the hot lab, ensures that materials are safely handled.

  4. Coordinates with Cardiology department staff assigned in Nuclear medicine for all cardiac exams.

  5. Ensures proper radiation safety for the area. Identifies the need for additional materials in a timely


fashion to ensure up-to-date supplies of specialized RPH materials.

  1. Participation in Hospital-wide performance improvement activities.

  2. Comply with the section policies, procedures and protocols. Follow the section quality improvement


program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.

  1. Comply with the Radiation Safety Rules and Regulations of the Hospital in accordance with KACST and

K.A. CARE and other National or International Regulatory bodies.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine/Radiological Sciences/Technology or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required:
Grade 09:
Four (4) years of hospital Nuclear medicine experience or related with Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Grade 10:

  • Four (4) years of experience as Senior Technologist, Nuclear Medicine at KFSH&RC, or (Grade 09) related experience is required
  • Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
  • One-hundred (100) cumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements(Certificates):

  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with NMTCB, ARRT, ASCP, CAMRT, or equivalent is required for non-Saudis.
