As a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist in Medical Laboratories, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of laboratory testing processes and results. Your role involves implementing quality assurance procedures, monitoring laboratory operations, and conducting quality control assessments to maintain high standards of performance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs and policies to ensure the integrity and reliability of laboratory testing procedures, data, and results.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and industry best practices, including CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), CAP (College of American Pathologists), ISO 15189, and other applicable guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation systems for laboratory procedures, protocols, quality control measures, and quality assurance activities. Ensure that documentation meets regulatory requirements and is readily accessible for audits and inspections.
  • Oversee the implementation of quality control measures, including instrument calibration, proficiency testing, internal and external quality assessments, and corrective action procedures. Monitor quality control data and trends to identify deviations or discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and error reduction in laboratory workflows. Collaborate with laboratory staff to implement changes, evaluate outcomes, and optimize performance metrics such as turnaround time, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Analyze quality control data, proficiency testing results, and performance metrics to assess laboratory performance, identify trends, and generate reports for management review. Communicate findings, recommendations, and action plans to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working in a medical laboratory, with a focus on quality assurance, quality control, or laboratory management.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality management principles, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Proficiency in quality control procedures, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
