Description
Drafting and Design:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed MEP drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD or other relevant software.
- Develop designs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems as per project requirements.
- Update and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, and clients.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with project engineers and design teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of drawings.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural and structural drawings to avoid conflicts.
- Liaise with contractors and on-site teams to resolve technical issues and ensure design accuracy.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Incorporate local regulations and safety requirements into designs.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
- Provide support in preparing as-built drawings and O&M manuals upon project completion.
Technical Support:
- Assist in preparing material take-offs and bill of quantities (BOQ) based on drawings.
- Support the project team with technical queries related to MEP drawings.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as an MEP Draftsman in construction or engineering projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with BIM processes and software.
- Experience in large-scale commercial or iresidential projects.
- Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
