ESTIMATION DEPARTMENT
Key Responsibilities:
Lighting System Estimation:
- Evaluate project plans, drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate lighting system cost estimates.
- Develop detailed lighting layout study, taking into consideration factors like alternatives, pricing, lighting codes, and client preference
Vendor Coordination:
- Request and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for lighting fixtures, control systems, and related materials.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing and ensure timely delivery of products.
Bid Preparation and Documentation:
Prepare and submit competitive bids for lighting installation and systems integration projects.
- Ensure all estimates are clearly documented and supported with accurate technical data and assumptions.
Team Interaction:
- Maintain clear communication with team to understand their requirements, provide project updates, and offer recommendations for cost-effective lighting solutions.
- Work closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and designers to ensure the seamless integration of lighting systems into broader project designs.
Research and Development:
- Stay up to date on the latest lighting technologies, products, and industry trends.
- Recommend new lighting solutions, energy-efficient alternatives, and innovative technologies to enhance system performance and reduce costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in estimating, electrical design, or energy-efficient lighting are a plus.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in lighting estimation, electrical engineering, or a similar field, preferably in construction or electrical contracting.
- Experience with lighting design software (e.g., Dialux, Relux) is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, lighting technologies, and relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IES, ASHRAE).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project), as well as estimation and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools).
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external vendors.

Work Environment:
- Office-based, with occasional site visits required for project assessments, coordination, and meetings with clients or contractors.
