About the Role
Uno Nutrition is looking for a passionate and motivated Intern to join our Innovation Department. This is a hands-on opportunity to explore food product development, gain exposure to industry-standard lab work, and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced nutritional product company. You'll be guided by senior staff within the Innovation Department, gaining hands-on experience in how R&D processes are applied in real-world nutritional product development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist in the development and formulation of nutritional products by supporting data collection, ingredient sourcing research, and initial testing aligned with market trends and regulatory standards.
- Conduct ingredient and nutritional research to support new product ideas, focusing on scientific literature, consumer preferences, and competitive analysis.
- Support the documentation of product formulations, ingredient specifications, and processing parameters under the guidance of the Food Technologist.
- Assist in analyzing market trends and consumer nutrition needs to contribute to the development of feasible new product concepts.
- Participate in lab-scale food processing activities such as Retort, Spray Drying, RTD, and Homogenization, while learning best practices in equipment handling and safety.
- Observe and assist in basic lab testing and food analysis methods, gaining exposure to tools and techniques that support product quality assurance.
- Assist in compiling nutritional guidelines and reference documents to support product claim validation in line with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to various aspects of innovation projects as assigned by your supervisor.
What We’re Looking For
- Students currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Applied Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Internship duration of at least 3 months is preferred.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic data management.
- Good written and verbal communication in English and Malay.
- Basic knowledge of food science and relevant regulations (e.g., Food Act 1983, CODEX).
- Curious, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with guidance.
