DESCRIPTION:

If so, Amazon’s Fill Rate team within Network Engineering & Scheduling Technology (NEST) is looking for an experienced Transportation Analyst with a strong record of achieving results, to own and build scalable solutions for a quickly growing business segment. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about building new businesses, solving complex problems for our customers, and establishing end-to-end transportation scheduling processes. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver worldwide shipments to and from our fulfillment centers and third-party locations. The team needs an exemplary analyst with broad technical skills to develop data visualizations and build automation solutions that drive business decision making and process improvement.

Key job responsibilities

  • Retrieving and analyzing large sets of data using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems.
  • Develop and/or understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
  • Monitor existing metrics, building new metrics, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
  • Escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered.
  • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
  • 1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Operations, Supply Chain, or Logistics field
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Fluency in a modeling language such as Python or R
  • Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written as one may be required to create a narrative outlining weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.
