Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
- Support individual students and small groups in their learning and development.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Facilitate play-based learning and assist with classroom management.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to address the diverse needs of students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
- Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, and cleanliness.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student learning at home.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in early childhood education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the development of young children.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Ability to lift and assist children as needed.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policy.
- Must have or be able to obtain Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Status within 60 days from the start of employment.
Schedule:
- 8:00 am - 3:00pm
- Monday-Friday
Wage:
$16.68 - $19.74 per hour
