Paraprofessional (Early Childhood)

Summary:
Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Support individual students and small groups in their learning and development.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Facilitate play-based learning and assist with classroom management.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to address the diverse needs of students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings.
  • Assist with classroom organization, materials preparation, and cleanliness.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to support student learning at home.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in early childhood education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with young children in an educational setting is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the development of young children.
  • Basic knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
  • Ability to lift and assist children as needed.
  • Background check clearance as required by school district policy.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Status within 60 days from the start of employment.

Schedule:

  • 8:00 am - 3:00pm
  • Monday-Friday

Wage:
$16.68 - $19.74 per hour
