Heavy Duty In-field Diesel Mechanic

American Retaining Wall has been building walls for over 25 years, and we employ some of the best and hardest working tradesmen in the business to maintain our success. We are currently seeking a traveling site-to-site diesel/heavy equipment mechanic to help maintain our fleet of machines and trucks. The majority of our equipment is Caterpillar, Doosan, and Yanmar and the majority of our trucks are Fords, with the average age of the fleet being 5 years or less. If you enjoy working independently outside, and can maintain your own schedule/while adapting to the unplanned immediate repair-then we would like you to join our team.

Note: The majority of our work and therefore our equipment is in the Monroe, NY 10950 area, however we also sometimes work in New Jersey and Southern New England.

Duties:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Diesel engines mainly on construction equipment and on some light, medium, and heavy duty trucks
• Diagnose/troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment
• Fabricate and Weld as needed including but not limited to machine buckets, exhaust, and vehicle/trailer/machine repairs
• Travel to and from sites using a company supplied service truck equipped with welder, compressor, crane, and various tools/supplies
• Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and meets quality standards
• Maintain good communication with fellow employees and supervisor as well as daily log of services and repairs

Requirements:

• Experience in Diagnosing and Repairing Medium/Heavy Duty Truck, Construction Equipment, Farm Equipment, or Industrial Equipment
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks and work outside in seasonal weather/conditions
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus but not required)

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
