POSITION DESCRIPTION - CENTRE MANAGER

Position Purpose

The Centre Manager provides leadership and operational management of the Inglewood Community Neighbourhood House and its associated programs, including the Inglewood Town Hall Hub.

This role ensures the organisation operates in line with its mission, values, funding agreements, and community needs. The role ensures the Neighbourhood House and Town Hall Hub are welcoming, well-managed, and responsive to community needs. The Manager oversees daily operations, finances, staff, volunteers, and partnerships, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and governance requirements. The Manager is responsible for program development, staff management, community engagement, and financial sustainability. A key focus of the role is to maximize community participation, sustainability, and collaboration across both sites.

The Inglewood Community Neighbourhood House is a vibrant community organisation that fosters connection, learning, and inclusion. It is a welcoming community hub providing lifelong learning opportunities, social connection, and support services for people of all ages and backgrounds with in the Loddon Shire. We deliver a range of programs, activities, and services suited to people living in a rural community.

The organisation also manages the Town Hall Hub, a shared community facility that hosts classes, meetings, events, and local initiatives. It is a vibrant multi-purpose community space that hosts programs, events, and services to strengthen social, cultural, and economic participation in Inglewood and surrounding areas. The Hub also provides accessible, affordable spaces for local groups and services, encouraging collaboration and community use of this valued public asset.

POSITION TITLE

Centre Manager - Permanent / Part time

HOURS

22.5 hours per week

7.5 hours x 3 days - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and conditions are as the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHCADS) - Social and Community Service Employee

Current classification as at October 2025 is a SACS Employees - Level 7

The Neighbourhood House Coordination Program (NHCP) funds the position of Centre Manager.

A satisfactory National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children check is required.

Administration Officer - part time, Teaching/Tutoring Staff (funding dependent)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leadership and Governance

  • Implement the strategic and operational plans in collaboration with the Committee of Management.
  • Provide regular reports, advice, and recommendations to the Committee.
  • Develop, implement and review, with the Committee, policies and procedures relevant to the operation of the Inglewood Community Neighbourhood House and Inglewood Town Hall Hub
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and funding requirements.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement.

Operational Management

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Inglewood Community Neighbourhood House, including program delivery, facilities, administration.
  • Manage the Inglewood Town Hall Hub.
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment for community members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage correspondence, data collection, and reporting.
  • Actively pursue grant opportunities
  • Attend and provide reports at Committee of Management meetings

Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage budgets in consultation with the Treasurer and Committee.
  • Monitor income and expenditure to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Administer and coordinate payroll, invoicing, and financial reporting activities, leveraging support when required.
  • Liaise with funding bodies and monitor grant allocations
  • Fulfil accountability requirements for funding bodies
  • Plan and prepare submissions for funding requests for long and short-term needs

Program and Community Development

  • Develop and deliver programs and activities that respond to community needs.
  • Engage with local residents, organisations, and networks to build partnerships.
  • Promote community participation and empowerment through collaborative planning.
  • Evaluate programs and measure outcomes in line with funding agreements.

Communication and Promotion

  • Represent Inglewood Community Neighbourhood House at meetings, networks, and community forums.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, partners, and the community.
  • Oversee marketing and communication activities, including newsletters, social media, and promotional materials.

Committee of Management

  • Ensure that the Committee is informed about all relevant issues relating to the operation of Inglewood Community Neighbourhood House and Inglewood Town Hall Hub
