Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and vital signs with precision and professionalism
• Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support during emergencies
• Support physicians and nurses in inpatient units, emergency departments, and outpatient clinics across various specialties like geriatrics, internal medicine, and medical-surgical units
• Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately and ensure seamless information flow
• Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to support billing processes and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations
• Prepare examination rooms, assist with specimen collection, and ensure proper sterilization and equipment readiness for procedures in ORs or trauma centers
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit

Experience

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in diverse healthcare settings such as hospital trauma centers (Level I & II), outpatient clinics, or specialty practices like dermatology or urgent care
• Demonstrated ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and basic physiology knowledge
• Familiarity with hospital environments including inpatient units like PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics wards
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding practices, and emergency medicine protocols
• Experience working with EHR systems in fast-paced environments; familiarity with hospital experience or Level I trauma center operations is highly desirable
• Ability to handle intake assessments efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care in outpatient or inpatient settings

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $26.70 per hour
