Job Description: Part-Time Swimming Coach
Location: Springhill Campus
Job Purpose:
To plan and conduct safe, engaging, and structured swimming lessons for students, focusing on skill development, water safety, and confidence-building, while ensuring adherence to safeguarding and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct swimming lessons for students of varying ages and abilities.
- Teach swimming techniques, water safety, and basic lifesaving skills.
- Plan lesson activities aligned with the school’s sports.
- Ensure student safety at all times during swimming sessions.
- Maintain discipline and positive behaviour in accordance with school policies.
- Carry out basic pool safety checks before each session.
- Communicate student progress and concerns to the Sports Coordinator or relevant staff.
- Comply with safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct policies.
- Ensure punctuality and accurate attendance records. Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow school safety protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Certified Swimming Coach or Instructor (recognised certification preferred).
- Valid Lifesaving / CPR / First Aid certification.
- Prior experience coaching children or adolescents (school setting preferred).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and confident in water. Strong awareness of child safeguarding and professional boundaries.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to undergo background checks.
- Ability to work on weekend sessions.
- Compliance with school policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
