Description
Base salary is $150 per day.
MUST be at least 21 and pass a drug screening.
MUST be able to lift 75lbs, and move up to 150lbs with a hand cart.
FedEx Ground drivers report to 570 E 108th St in Canarsie, between 8-9AM (depending on route assignment). Successful drivers are physically fit, energetic and self motivated. Safe driving skills are a must.
What to expect:
- The first 2 weeks on a FedEx route can be stressful - drivers are learning how to use the scanner, learning addresses, learning the best parking spots along a route, etc..
- Weeks 3 and 4 become easier every day as you start to figure out the best approach to your route
- Weeks 5+ are much, much EASIER and drivers tend to work less hours as they have mastered the difficult stops along their routes, they recognize addresses by memory, and they know the best ways to stay organized.
- Successful drivers keep their trucks organized and are people who enjoy working alone - plenty of time for hands-free entertainment (music, podcasts, etc..)
- Successful drivers value a basic level of physical fitness - you are walking and climbing stairs throughout the day. Some drivers jog and run as well.
- If you are not physically fit, and do not enjoy moving around a lot throughout the day, this type of job is probably not a good fit for you.
